Extension! Deadline for Doctoral Symposium abstracts-February 25th

The Doctoral Symposium will be held during the pre-conference on 19th March 2018. It is aimed at PhD students who want to discuss interactively their findings, issues or ideas on topics regarding Interoperability with experienced participants from the industry and research.
This conference aims for exchanging knowledge to encourage new findings. Get exclusive feedback from members of the research community and all participants to boost your own thesis.

Tentative Topics

Submissions for the Doctoral Symposium should focus on, but are not limited to, the following topics:

•    Manufacturing Enterprise Interoperability
•    Methods, Modelling and Semantics for Enterprise Interoperability
•    Requirements engineering for interoperability
•    Architectures and Frameworks for interoperability
•    Services for Enterprise Interoperability
•    Domain-specific interoperability requirements and solutions
•    Specific interoperability challenges in IoT-based systems
•    Interoperability Testing and Certification

 

Dates

Paper submission deadline: February 25th, 2018
Author notification due: March 1st, 2018
Camera-ready copies due: April 30th, 2018
Publication of Proceedings: June 20th, 2018

Schedule

Contributions

PhD students interested to participate in the Doctoral Symposium are requested to submit an extended abstract of 5 pages. Papers in English must describe original work and must follow the ISTE guidelines for authors. Posters can be submitted illustrating the main research question and ongoing scientific work and expected novel results. It is recommended to submit a supporting letter from the PhD supervisor together with the contribution.
Conditions for submission of papers and posters:
•    Papers and posters must be single authored
•    PhD student has not yet defended his/her PhD thesis
•    Papers and posters shall discuss topics clearly relevant to the I-ESA’18 conference theme.

Papers should clearly state:
•    Problem formulation
•    Research hypothesis
•    Proposed solution
•    Expected contributions of your dissertation research

Accepted papers must be presented during the Doctoral Symposium by the PhD student. Presentation time will be 15 minutes. A moderated plenary discussion of the paper will follow each presentation. At the end of the symposium, there will be a general discussion, including a brainstorming session about current and future research topics in the area.

Accepted Papers will be published in the Workshop Proceedings.
